Djeco is a French brand phenomenon that has been proving since 1954 that play is an art form. It's an explosion of color, fantasy, and artistic daring that inspires both children and adults. Its name comes from the word "gecko," an Asian symbol of happiness, and the smiling lizard in its logo perfectly captures the joy and creativity embedded in each product. This is a brand for those who believe that a child's world should be full of beauty, intelligent design, and limitless imagination.
The brand's history is as extraordinary as its products. Founded in Paris by Véronique Michel-Dalès , a pioneer in the business world, the company created beautiful educational games from the outset. However, the real revolution came in 1989 , when her son, Frédéric, decided to reinvent the company. A key and groundbreaking decision was to invite not graphic designers, but artists and illustrators from around the world. Djeco gave them free rein, giving each toy, game, or puzzle a unique, original style. To this day, the company still calls itself a "toy publisher," not a factory – the entire creative process takes place in its Parisian studio, and production is outsourced to the world's best specialists, guaranteeing the highest quality and innovation.
Djeco's artistic vision is underpinned by an uncompromising approach to quality and safety. This is the absolute foundation upon which the brand's entire creativity rests. All toys undergo rigorous, multi-stage testing to meet, and often exceed, the most demanding European (EN71) and international safety standards . Materials—from solid wood in educational toys, to thick, laminated cardboard in puzzles, to non-toxic paints and inks —are carefully selected for durability and complete safety for children. It is this assurance of quality that allows parents and children to fully immerse themselves in a world of carefree, artistic play.
Djeco's strength lies in its artistic diversity. Instead of building stylistically uniform collections, the brand celebrates art in its myriad guises, and its offerings are incredibly broad:
Creative and artistic kits: This flagship category has revolutionized the market. Sand art, scratch cards, origami kits, stamps, and jewelry making elevate art to mini works of art, offering children professional tools and stunning results.
Puzzles and games: Djeco is known for its puzzles in beautiful, ornate boxes, which are decorative in themselves and serve as treasures for years. Their card games, such as "Piriatatak" and "Bata-Waf," have achieved worldwide success – perfect for travel, they teach strategic thinking in a highly accessible way.
Arty Toys figures: A unique, collectible series of articulated figurines of knights, pirates and princesses with an extraordinary, artistic design that is proof of the brand's design boldness.
Toys for little ones and decorations: From beautiful wooden educational toys to magical night lights and mobiles, Djeco turns a child's room into a fairytale land.
By choosing Djeco, you're investing in more than just a toy – you're giving your child a ticket to the world of imagination. It's an invitation to experiment, create, and discover that creativity has no limits.
